Accounting Operations Supervisor

Overview

A well-established insurance organization is seeking an Accounting Operations Supervisor to join its finance team in Jersey City. This role can be structured at either the Senior Analyst or Supervisor level depending on experience and offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting accounting operations, systems initiatives, and cross-functional problem solving.

This position sits within a collaborative accounting team and focuses on accounts receivable support, operational investigations, systems improvement, and process oversight. The team works closely with internal stakeholders, brokers, and insured clients, so strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Accounts Receivable team to support complex reconciliations and resolve payment or invoicing discrepancies
• Investigate and trace transactions across systems to resolve accounting and operational issues
• Act as backup support for AR processes when needed
• Perform audit sampling and review of expense reports and AP-related transactions to support internal control requirement
• Collaborate with Accounting, Underwriting, and other internal teams to resolve operational issues
• Support ERP initiatives including Workday Financials testing, system evaluations, and process improvements
• Identify opportunities to enhance workflows, reporting, and operational efficiency
• Maintain strong communication with internal teams, brokers, and external partners

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 4 years of experience in accounting, accounting operations, AR, or finance operations
• Experience researching discrepancies, reconciliations, and transaction analysis
• ERP system exposure required; Workday Financials experience strongly preferred
• Prior supervisory experience is helpful but not required
• Insurance industry experience is a plus but not required
