Sawmill Laborer

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sawmill Laborer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the efficient operation of the sawmill by assisting with wood processing, equipment setup, and quality control. Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and loading of raw timber into sawmill equipment using hand tools and power tools.
• Sorting and stacking lumber.
• Operate machinery to cut, shape, and process wood components.
• Use calipers and other measuring tools to ensure precision in wood dimensions and quality standards.
• Support the setup and calibration of programming for various millwork projects, ensuring accurate cuts and specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area within the warehouse or sawmill environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Assist with routine maintenance of equipment, including sharpening blades and inspecting machinery for proper operation.
• Collaborate with team members on construction or carpentry tasks related to wood processing projects.

Requirements

• Prior experience in manufacturing, woodworking, or warehouse environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction or carpentry techniques is a plus.
• Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Basic understanding of machining concepts and millwork processes is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail when using calipers and other measurement devices to ensure precision.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials safely, and perform manual tasks efficiently.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality standards. Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
