We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sawmill Laborer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and loading of raw timber into sawmill equipment using hand tools and power tools.
- Sorting and stacking lumber.
- Operate machinery to cut, shape, and process wood components.
- Use calipers and other measuring tools to ensure precision in wood dimensions and quality standards.
- Support the setup and calibration of programming for various millwork projects, ensuring accurate cuts and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the warehouse or sawmill environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with routine maintenance of equipment, including sharpening blades and inspecting machinery for proper operation.
- Collaborate with team members on construction or carpentry tasks related to wood processing projects.
Requirements
- Prior experience in manufacturing, woodworking, or warehouse environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction or carpentry techniques is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of machining concepts and millwork processes is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail when using calipers and other measurement devices to ensure precision.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials safely, and perform manual tasks efficiently.
