Computer Support Technician
Qualifications
1 High School Diploma or equivalent.
2 Minimum of three (3) years experience in computer-related activities and/or technical school diploma in a computer related field.
3 Professional certifications will be considered. (i.e. CCNP, CCIE, Network , CompTIA).
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Possess organizational skills in documenting and maintaining information pertinent to the maintenance and trouble-shooting of network hardware and software. Knowledge of networking functions. Ability to communicate with users and guide them through the system development process. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Reports To
Assigned Administrator
JOB GOAL
A computer support technician has to be on top of any computer problem that may occur, and be able to accurately diagnose and resolve the issue in a timely manner. They should be knowledgeable of various computer systems, hardware, software, and related computer equipment, constantly staying up-to-date. Customer service is also commonly a part of their job, so effective communication skills is key.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force as frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.

Service Delivery
- 1 Assist in administration and maintenance of E-mail and web server.
- 2 Assist with testing, diagnosing and repair of local and wide-area networks.
- 3 Provide technical assistance to staff in network operations.
- 4 Assist with selection, evaluation and procurement of network hardware, operating systems applications and other related facilities and/or equipment.
- 5 Assist personnel with various computer operations of the student records system.
- 6 Provide for the distribution of computer system expenditures to various cost centers.
- 7 Assist with student scheduling and food service computer programs.
- 8 Serve as FIRN contact for the District.
- 9 Provide technical support for all hardware/software issues.
- 10 Communicate effectively with staff and administration.
- 11 Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
- 12 Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
- 13 Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
- 14 Provide for a safe and secure workplace.
- 15 Model and maintain high ethical standards.
