Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and root cause analysis to identify risks and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Lead incident investigations, prepare detailed report writing, and communicate findings to management to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate safety training sessions for employees on topics such as hazardous materials regulations, environmental management systems, first aid, CPR, OSHA compliance, and workplace safety best practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental health standards by monitoring environmental regulatory compliance and managing environmental health programs.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training logs, and regulatory documentation to support audit readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of continuous improvement in occupational health and environmental management.
- Conduct jobsite quality control for installed work
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction environments with a strong understanding of excavation safety regulations including OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Certified in first aid, CPR, and familiar with Workers' Compensation law as it pertains to workplace injuries.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems (EMS) and experience in environmental regulatory compliance is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct hazard analysis, root cause analysis, and report writing effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver engaging training & development sessions on safety topics.
- Familiarity with occupational health expertise principles related to employee health (regulatory compliance standards).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment dedicated to safety excellence.
