As a Shipping Specialist – Customer Service, you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers, suppliers, and freight vendors while serving as an essential link between our sales, production, and management teams. From managing inbound/outbound truck scales to ensuring accurate shipping documents, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly. This position combines administrative precision, customer service excellence, and real-time problem solving and typical work week is Monday-Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and operate the inbound/outbound truck scale
- Provide premium customer service to customers, suppliers, and freight vendors
- Oversee the scale office, directing trucks and managing unloading/loading procedures
- Generate and process bills of lading, purchase orders, invoices, and inventory documentation
- Use math and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate real-time shipping data
- Record and track all shipments in Microsoft Teams and communicate updates to stakeholders
- Resolve billing errors and issue credits when necessary
- Support the Freight Specialist with freight quotes for Sales to provide delivered pricing
- Inventory management, with an emphasis on diligent attention to detail.
- Investigate invoicing/accrual questions from the corporate office
- Collaborate daily with MicroSource sales and production management teams
- Timely attendance and a positive, customer-first outlook.
- Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (June–March); occasional late-truck support required
- Extended hours and some Saturdays (7:00 am – noon) during spring fertilizer season (April–May)
- Full ownership and accountability of assigned tasks
- Develop strong product knowledge for products produced, shipped, and received.
- Diligent attention to detail in inventory management
- Adherence to confidentiality policies
- No travel required
- College degree preferred. A combination of education and equivalent professional work experience in related field will be considered.
- High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, pivot quickly, and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong math aptitude required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including collaboration on shared worksheets and files using filters and formulas)
- ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.) is a plus
- Import/export experience is a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly in complex or fast-changing situations
