Job Summary:
Reviews and evaluate Water, Sewer and Erosion, Sedimentation, and Pollution Control (ESPC) plans. The reviewer prepares easement drawings and documents. This role assists in obtaining easement rights from property owners when required.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and evaluate water, sewer, and stormwater plan for compliance with Macon Water Authority standards and specifications.
- Assist customers over the telephone or in person by obtaining information from intersection cards, drawings, and maps.
- Reviews Department of Transportation permit applications and assists in preparing DOT permit applications, and intersection cards, maintains records and performs related work as required.
- Files and maintains project information in a comprehensive and orderly manner that other engineering team members easily reference.
- Inputs drawings information into CAD program and spreadsheets on a computer.
- Prepares complete, accurate, and concise written reports and correspondence, using correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Prepares easement drawings and documents and conducts courthouse research.
- Provides accurate cost regarding project tap fees.
- Performs dye tests to determine whether a building is connected to a sewer.
- Performs flow tests for new fire sprinkler customers.
- Assumes responsibility for a timely and appropriate response to all inquiries regarding plans.
- Communicates in a clear and well-organized manner, so ideas are easily understood.
- Coordinate work with other departments.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Two years of college or vocational training or relevant experience.
- One to three years of experience in standard terminology, techniques, and practices of engineering technology.
- Must obtain a Level II Certified Plan Reviewer (Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission) within one (1) year from the date of hire.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- A valid Georgia Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing, and/or stooping.
- Ability to carry 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
- Occasional sitting, crawling, crouching, climbing, and balancing.
- Ability to grasp and hold.
