Summary

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, and some work experience involving the monitoring/direction of traffic flow; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Residential identification checks to verify they are Macon-Bibb residents
- Guides, directs, and spots all incoming vehicles to designated dumping areas.
- Regulates number of vehicles dumping in any one area at the same time.
- Advises and guides vehicles discarding certain chemicals or debris to specific designated areas.
- Keeps watch on center equipment working in area to ensure safety and help to prevent accidents or bodily injury.
- Assists in preventing scrounging in dumping areas.
- Determines necessity of emptying dumpsters.
- Completes special projects and performs other miscellaneous duties as required.

The Convenience Center Attendant must be knowledgeable of the following principles, procedures, and concepts:
- Considerable knowledge of safety techniques and practices used in spotting vehicles preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic working knowledge of personal computers and the ability to operate word processing and database software programs to keep simple records, as required.
- Ability to perform necessary record keeping pertaining to position held.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and with members of the general public.
