Job Summary
Applies engineering techniques to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.
Job Duties
- Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements and production standards
- Consider workflow, layout and safety measures when designing industrial plants and facilities
- Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability and minimize cost
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer
- Ensure design meets organizational and production goals
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Perform work under general supervision
- Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
- Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter
- May provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
- Typically require a bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience
