Screed Operator

Summary
Machado Construction Co. Inc., is a family owned and operated business located in Halethorpe, MD. We are seeking an experienced Screed Operator to join our team. 5 years of related experience is required.
Duties
· Install quality asphalt pavement.
· Assist construction and/or paving crew with various duties.
· Assist in the placement, moving, and/or dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic devices as necessary.
· Must follow all direction from job foreman explaining daily tasks for each individual job site/project.
· Must follow all safety protocols regarding personal safety, traffic control management, and equipment safety, including attending all required safety meetings.
· Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Ability to operate all pieces of equipment associated with asphalt paving.
· Experience with asphalt paving, curb & gutter, roadway slabs, sidewalks, and ADA compliant walkways.
· Must have a valid driver's license.
· Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
· Must be punctual and have good time management skills.
· Must be able to abide by all safety protocols and procedures.
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time, including walking, standing, squatting, etc.
· Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
· Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather.
· Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels.
· Ability to 8-10 hour shifts.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
- 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary
· $20-$28 hourly based on experience.
