POSITION: Maintenance Supervisor
LOCATION: St. Catharines, ON (onsite)

Our client is a growing high-volume distributor with an automated operations environment and has been in business for over 40 years who is on the hunt for a Maintenance Supervisor to assume a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and leading a team of maintenance technicians in a fast-paced operational setting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining automated systems, supporting preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and driving operational efficiency through strong technical and people leadership.
The ideal candidate will be an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (or apprentice) and extensive experience with packaging equipment and PLCs .
This is a full-time permanent position Monday to Friday for the afternoon shift from 4:00pm-12:00am. The afternoon shift Supervisor will be groomed to take over for the day-time shift Supervisor so there is potential to move to the day-shift in the future with long-term career growth trajectory!

Core Responsibilities Will Include
- Maintenance Operations & Reliability: lead shift maintenance activities for automated warehouse and production equipment; troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, motors, bearings, chains, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.; support equipment uptime through preventative and predictive maintenance planning
- Automation & Controls: assist with troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems; support maintenance of sensors, drives, HMIs, and networked control systems; work with robotics and automated material handling equipment.
- Team Leadership: supervise and support maintenance personnel; assign daily work, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance; support hiring, onboarding, and performance management activities.
- Continuous Improvement & Facility Support: participate in Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives; maintain accurate maintenance records; assist with inventory control for spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Millwright certification or registered apprenticeship (level 2)
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or automated operations environments
- Previous experience leading or mentoring maintenance teams
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
- Experience working with conveyors, automated equipment, packaging machinery, or sortation systems
- Familiarity with PLCs, robotics, VFDs, and industrial automation systems
- Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and CMMS platforms
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
- Base salary: 80-100K (based on experience and certifications)
