Our client, a very successful privately owned company in the health care industry with nearly 250 employees in the US and Canada is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join their team in Bellingham, WA to provide HR support to their expanding local team (currently 60 employees). They are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Human Resources Specialist to manage everything from recruitment and onboarding to employee engagement/relations, to payroll accuracy and safety compliance in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate the full onboarding process: from offer acceptance through orientation and first-week setup.
- Track the employee lifecycle, including introductory-period follow-ups, status changes, and offboarding documentation.
- Post and manage recruitment activities
- Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Review and manage employee timecards for accuracy and support payroll preparation
- Maintain audit-ready HR records
- Ensure compliance with Federal, Washington State, and local employment requirements.
- Support OSHA and workplace safety activities
- Support the Practice Manager with coaching, corrective action processes, and workplace concerns.
- Recognize and promptly escalate high-risk matters
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant HR experience.
- Strong knowledge of Federal and State (WA) employment laws and standards
- Education: Diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Communication: Excellent written and spoken communication skills; ability to handle sensitive information with extreme confidentiality.
