Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping journey
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process transactions accurately and swiftly
- Handle cash, credit, and mobile payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Assist customers with product information, including conducting product demos when applicable
- Upsell related products to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a helpful attitude
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Support inventory management through regular stock checks and assisting with inventory replenishment
- Provide friendly phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Promote store promotions and new products to boost sales and customer engagement
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members during shifts to ensure smooth store operations (if applicable)
- Demonstrate strong retail math skills for accurate cash register balancing and transaction reconciliation
- Engage in basic math calculations for pricing, discounts, and change-making with confidence
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cashiering tasks and sales transactions
