Position Overview:
The Dealership Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing payments for service, parts, and sales transactions. This role supports the dealership by ensuring smooth front-desk operations, maintaining organized records, and assisting customers with questions related to their invoices, payments, and general dealership information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and assist them with payment processing
- Accurately handle cash, credit card, and check transactions for service and parts invoices
- Reconcile the daily cash drawer and prepare deposit summaries
- Provide customers with receipts, warranty paperwork, or additional documentation as needed
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate departments
- Assist service advisors with closing repair orders and organizing paperwork
- Maintain a tidy and welcoming cashier area
- Support general administrative tasks including filing, scanning, and data entry
- Handle customer questions or concerns with professionalism and escalate as necessary
- Follow dealership, manufacturer, and compliance guidelines at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred (automotive dealership experience a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with cash handling
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency (DMS experience a plus, e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Tekion)
Working Conditions:
- Full-time or part-time availability depending on dealership needs
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods
