Position Overview
The Wound Care Coordinator is responsible for reviewing, documenting, and managing wound care protocols for residents in skilled nursing facilities. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, knowledge of Medicare guidelines, and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems to ensure proper wound care documentation and supply ordering.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation and Data Management
- Review and update resident status information in EMR systems
- Maintain accurate records in NIKO documentation system
- Create and update patient profiles with wound care details
Resident Assessment and Qualification
- Verify resident status and eligibility for wound care services
- Identify and categorize residents based on care level and payer (skilled nursing, hospice, non-skilled)
- Assess wound qualification criteria including depth measurements and debridement requirements
Clinical Knowledge and Evaluation
- Evaluate wounds for Medicare guideline compliance
- Understand and identify various debridement methods (training will be given)
- Assess wound characteristics including drainage levels and thickness
Supply Management and Ordering
- Review order history and categorize residents based on supply timing
- Evaluate treatment changes and their impact on supply needs
- Apply knowledge of dressing types, usage limits, and Medicare coverage guidelines
- Process orders for qualified residents within appropriate timeframes
System Navigation and Research
- Navigate multiple systems including EMR, NIKO, and Monday.com
- Conduct thorough searches using various EMR tabs (Orders, Assessments, Forms, Miscellaneous)
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to navigate multiple software platforms simultaneously
- Strong data entry and documentation skills

Qualifications
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to navigate multiple software platforms simultaneously
- Strong data entry and documentation skills
- Wound Care experience is a plus
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
