Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Position Description
Maas Energy Works is seeking a highly capable Project Financing Manager to play a critical role in supporting the Executive Assistant/Fundraising Coordinator, CFO, and Finance Team in acquiring funding for a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects. It will also include managing the Project Financing Specialist currently working on the team. This position is primarily focused on managing and optimizing federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and Section 45Z benefits under the Internal Revenue Code, ensuring that projects are fully compliant and positioned to maximize available incentives. The Project Financing Manager will oversee the end-to-end financing process for renewable energy and clean hydrogen initiatives, including tracking project eligibility, preparing and maintaining all required documentation, and coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders such as producers, legal counsel, insurance providers, and buyer agencies. This includes verifying compliance with prevailing wage requirements and labor standards, ensuring that projects meet all domestic labor and wage rules required for tax credits and incentives.
The role also supports refinancing existing renewable energy facilities across the United States to achieve more favorable financing terms and lower the cost of capital. In addition to financial and tax credit management, the position requires facilitating investor communications, responding to data requests, and actively participating in strategic planning for projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable reviewing legal and financial documents, leading conference calls, and maintaining strong professional relationships with multiple agencies, consultants, and financial institutions nationwide. This position demands excellent administrative, organizational, and communication skills, both over the phone and via video, as well as the ability to coordinate complex projects to successful, timely closings while ensuring full compliance with labor, wage, and tax requirements. Responsibilities
  • Track project eligibility and maintain all documentation necessary for federal ITC and Section 45Z compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners, including producers, legal counsel, insurance providers, and buyer agencies, to optimize tax incentives for renewable energy investments.
  • Support refinancing of renewable energy facilities across the U.S., identifying financing options with lower costs of capital.
  • Facilitate investor communication and manage data requests.
  • Review legal documents and provide guidance on project financing requirements.
  • Lead and participate in conference calls and video meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and deadlines are met.
  • Build and maintain relationships with consultants, state agencies, and financial institutions nationwide, particularly in California.
  • Stay current on relevant federal tax incentives, policies, and regulatory updates.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, investment banking, or commercial lending
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Highly proficient with Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field a bonus but not required
