You would be responsible for performing and/or overseeing the credentialing and privileging of physicians and allied health professionals in accordance with Mercy Medical Center's Staff Bylaws and standards. What You Will Do: Report to Manager of Medical Staff Office Credentialing, reappointments, privileging (including special and temporary privileges), proctoring, competencies, maintaining practitioner information in electronic and paper files, monitoring expiring documents, and other aspects related to credentialing and privileging. Support the medical staff in its self-governance functions by supporting department and committee meetings, assisting in the researching and development of privileging criteria. Assist with preparing correspondence at the request of, or on behalf of, medical staff officers and committee chairs. Assist with medical staff events and functions. Work Hours/Shift: • 40 hours, Day Shift Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Healthcare Administration, related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required. Work requires a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible credentialing experience. Experience in a hospital medical staff office as a Medical Staff Coordinator, Credentialist, or similar preferred. Understanding of medical staff regulatory and accreditation standards required. Experience with standard Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Midas Seeker credentialing database required and Meditech database required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Discretion and judgment in the handling of confidential and/or sensitive information. Ability to complete job responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy under minimum supervision, requiring a sense of self-direction and a strong sense of responsibility and accountability to ensure that work is completed accurately and timely.
