Role

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing goods and services essential for business operations while optimizing costs and ensuring quality. This position involves the generation and execution of purchase orders, preparing and processing requests for proposals, requesting quotes, and other relevant documentation (e.g., POs, RFQs, RFPs, Invoices, etc.). This role involves supplier and order tracking, completing purchase orders, and supporting inventory control to maintain efficient supply chain operations.

The Buyer assists in the acquisition of equipment, materials, supplies, and services to support engineering and manufacturing. The role includes various duties and job responsibilities to support overall purchasing operations. Acting as the primary point of contact between the company and external vendors, the Buyer plays a key part in ensuring that vendor services meet company standards, including timely delivery and compliance with agreements. The candidate should be well organized and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills. Specific responsibilities may include:

Roles/Responsibilities

• Complete POs with specific details to procure materials and equipment for engineering and manufacturing operations
• Complete daily PO requests
• Coordinate with teams to ensure orders are complete to exact specificity
• Issue, manage, and track purchase orders
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and reports
• Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and lead time
• Assist with monitoring inventory and determining purchasing needs
• Track pricing and lead times to reduce costs and prevent supply issues
• Ensure on-time delivery and resolve order issues

Required Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree, applied technical training and/or certifications
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience with 2 years direct procurement experience
• Strong communication skills, high attention to detail, operate independently
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Strong skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain roles
• Proficiency in ERP/procurement software (e.g., Smartsheets, Quickbooks, Flowtrac, etc.)
• Experience in contract negotiation, vendor assessments, and inventory management
• AS or BS degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
• Proficiency in vendor management software and supply chain systems
• Analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends and supplier performance
• Track record of working effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Experience working effectively across various organizations (e.g., vendors, partners, stakeholders) engaged on a project

Salary

• $45,000 - $55,000 per year

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Work Location

Brevard county, FL with a large manufacturing facility in Rockledge, FL. This location is the heart of Florida’s Space Coast.
