Position Summary
The Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes, managing project accounting and financial reporting activities, and assisting with other reporting duties as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical accounting foundation, leadership capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Support quarterly and annual external reporting requirements.
- Oversee project accounting activities, including monitoring project costs, revenue recognition, and financial performance.
- Manage daily cash reporting and assist with cash flow forecasting and analysis.
- Coordinate sales tax filings and compliance activities.
- Review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity.
- Partner with operational leaders to analyze financial results and support business decision-making.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Support external audits and coordinate requests from auditors.
- Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to accounting staff and transactional accounting functions, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA preferred.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Prior experience in a public company environment strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience managing month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.
- Knowledge of project accounting, percentage-of-completion accounting, or contract accounting is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting audits and internal control initiatives.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
