Electrical Controls Engineer

We are currently searching for an Electrical Controls Engineer with 1 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and an interest in material handling, conveyors, robotics, electrical controls, and automation. This is a direct hire opportunity for our customer in the Detroit, MI area.

You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain products and equipment by performing electrical, electronic, and mechanical repairs; identifying, analyzing, and repairing product failures, ordering & replacing parts as needed. You should be familiar with various material handling systems which include conveyors, transfers, part carriers, and other automation type equipment.

• Must be available to work weekends, nights, overtime, and holidays, as needed
• Must be flexible as the position may require up to 45% travel within the US, Canada, or Mexico
• Must be able to negotiate thru an industrial conveyor system requiring climbing access ladders, scaffolding, screen guards, etc
• Physically capable of standing and/or walking for long periods of time.
• The ability to lift at 25-50 lbs

Qualifications

• PLC programming skills (Allen Bradley or Siemens) in a hands-on field environment is desirable
• Proficiency with MS office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project
• AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3D modeling software (minimum 2 years’ experience preferred)

Education And Experience

• BS degree in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics or automation engineering
• 1 years’ experience in material handling, conveyor systems, tooling, or machinery engineering for the manufacturing industry is desirable
