Essential Job Functions:Customarily and regularly trains and directs the work of at least two or more other full-time employees or their equivalent to ensure their assigned duties are done correctly, efficiently, and responsiblyMakes suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of assigned employeesTrains and supervises assigned personnel, prepares work schedules, assigns work and oversees the work producedMaintain a good working relation with co-workers and outside companies that work with the Zook Molasses or represent our companyOrder materials and supplies required for the departmentMonitor inventories to ensure adequacy of supplyUltimately responsible for orders and/or product being processed correctly and on timeCommunicates with the Plant Manager regarding department operations status on a regular basisCompletes any paperwork / production reports in a timely manner and forwards to appropriate individualMeasures and reports the effectiveness of department activitiesEstablishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow.Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulationsRecommends measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performanceContinuously improves production operations through the use of lean enterprise practicesConfers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customersResponsible for maintaining quality, authentic, safe, and legal products.Any other duties as requested directed or assigned by the managerSupervisor Responsibilities:Manages and directs assigned personnel. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable lawsResponsibilities include safety, participating in interviewing and hiring; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and providing continual feedback on both positive and negative performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems and maintaining accurate attendance recordsDemonstrates commitment to company valuesFosters a cooperative work environmentJob Requirements:Education and Experience (Licenses and Certifications):High school graduate or equivalentMinimum 2 years supervisory of experience preferably in a manufacturing environmentValid driver’s license and the ability to travel to other company locationsSix Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience a plusEquipment to Be Used:Any equipment associated with assigned departmentRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and or situationsAbility to plan and think ahead over a 3 month to 1-year time spanComputer proficientAbility to measure performance to company goals and standards and establish targets for improvements in safety, quality cost, delivery and employee relationsAbility to understand and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form as they pertain to productionAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers and customersAbility to work under stress with interruptions and deadlinesAbility to think logically in following procedures and instructionsAny additional specialized safety or other training requiredEssential Physical Demands:Prolonged periods standing and walking, using tools and performing repetitive actionsMust be able to lift up to 50lbs with helpVisual acuity to read instructions and operate machines Operating Principals:Employees are expected to work in a manner consistent with Golden Barrel Products, Zook Ag. and ZMC Logistics operating principles: specifically, work and act as a team player in all interactions with other company employee’s; provide a high level of customer service at all times; project and maintain a positive image with those contacted in the course of work; develop and maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships with co-workers and others; and consistently provide quality service.Working Hours:Standard workday Monday through Friday and as necessary to complete the requirements of the positionOvertime may be required, and hours are subject to change based on company needs
