What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential HVAC Technician - Experienced position at M & S Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning?
HVAC Service Technician
M & S Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning – Manhattan, KS
M & S Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning is looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team.
We’re a family-owned company that has been serving Manhattan and the surrounding area since 1981. We’re looking for someone who knows the trade, takes pride in their work, and can take care of customers without needing someone looking over their shoulder all day.
EPA certification is required.
What You'll Be Doing:
Most of your day will be residential HVAC service and repair, including:
- Diagnosing and repairing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and other HVAC equipment (experience with geothermal systems and mini-splits is extremely beneficial)
- Performing maintenance and system inspections
- Explaining problems and repair options clearly to homeowners
- Completing service tickets and documenting work performed
- Keeping your service vehicle organized and stocked
- Working with our office and other technicians when a job needs additional help
- Occasional light plumbing (do not worry, we will cross train in house, no prior plumbing experience required!)
- Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM with overtime, we do a day on - day off schedule with rotating weekends
We’re not looking for someone who just wants to swap parts. We want a technician who can troubleshoot a system, figure out what’s actually wrong, and give the customer good options for getting it taken care of.
What We're Looking For:
HVAC experience is required, especially residential service experience. You should be comfortable troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues and working independently in customers' homes.
More importantly, we want someone who:
- Shows up when they're supposed to
- Takes pride in doing things correctly
- Treats customers and their homes with respect
- Can communicate with customers without making things overly complicated
- Works well with the rest of the team
- Has a valid driver's license and a good driving record
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience
- Commission opportunities
- Paid vacation
- Paid sick time
- Paid holidays
- Health insurance and dental contribution
- 401(k) with company match
- Company service vehicle
- Year-round work
- Local service area
- Established company with over 45 years in business
- On-Job Training
- Uniforms Provided
- Christmas Bonus
- Large Tools Provided
This isn't a position where you're going to be sent all over the state or treated like a number. We're a smaller local company, our service area is close to home, and several of our employees have been with us for many years.
If you're an HVAC technician looking for a place where you can do good work, make good money, and be part of a company that's been serving the area for decades, we'd like to talk to you.
