About the Role:
M&S Machine & Tool Co., Inc. is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Quality Manager to join our team in West Haven, CT. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with AS9100 industry standards
- Lead internal audits, inspections, and corrective action processes (CAPA) to drive continuous improvement
- Oversee first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final product quality checks
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and operations teams to resolve quality issues and reduce defects
- Manage customer quality complaints.
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, drawings, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Train and mentor shop floor personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices
Requirements:
- 5 years of quality management experience in a machining, manufacturing, ideally in a precision parts environment
- Strong knowledge of QMS standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949
- Proficiency with GD&T, CMM inspection, and metrology tools
- Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes
- Familiarity with customer quality requirements and first article inspection (FAI) documentation
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic shop environment
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field preferred; CQE or CQM certification a plus
