Family Law Attorney- 3 Years Experience (Preferred) Pay: Base pay plus a percentage of money collected with no cap. Family Law Firm seeks an attorney to represent the firm and our clients diligently. The job requires a commitment to work tenaciously in an effort to level the playing field for the non-custodial parent, whom we most often represent. Our office provides a paralegal, and your legal team works together to ensure that our client's court needs are met. We are a fun group and there is never a dull moment. In-person position. Sign-on bonus. Responsibilities:Establish and maintain effective communication with current clients and potential clients.Must be able to perform legal research as needed.Draft legal pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial briefs, as well as respond to correspondence.Supervise legal work of paralegal.Appear in court and settlement conferences on behalf of clients and argue motions during legal proceedings.Meet statutory deadlines for cases.Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution.Minimum weekly billing requirement: 30 hours a week, 6 hours a day. Qualifications:Successful completion of accredited law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and at least 3 years of related experience.Must be a member of the California Bar Association and in good standing.Must have prior litigation and/or Civil litigation.Able to work independently while handling multiple files.Well-versed in legal research software (ie: Lexis Nexis) and the ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.Decision-making, Court presence, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must.Able to work independently while servicing a high-volume caseloadStay current on California Family Law legislation and appellate decisionsTechnologically literate, a plusBi-lingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
