Fairview Range is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to lead our Emergency Department in Hibbing, MN!
We are a Level IV trauma center and an Acute Stroke Ready hospital. As a rural hospital, we make a difference in our community every day by providing life-saving treatment to the seriously ill and injured 24 hours a day, with an adjacent Urgent Care department seeing lower acuity patients 13 hours per day, 7 days per week. The Manager of Emergency Services has twenty-four hour a day management responsibility and accountability for nursing care delivery, human resources, operations, and quality improvement for the Emergency Department and Urgent Care.
Schedule: This is a full time, exempt position.

About this department:
- 17 ER beds including 2 standalone trauma bays
- Multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies.
- Care delivery team: Board Certified/Eligible ED physicians and advanced practice providers, RNs, LPNs, Unit Assistants, dedicated Social Worker, dedicated Security Officer
- Telemedicine includes Telestroke and Telepsych
- Patient population: all ages
As the Manager of Emergency Services, you will:
- Apply a value-based method when recruiting, interviewing, and selecting qualified employees.
- Participate in formal retention and recognition activities.
- Develop position descriptions/evaluations/essential functions for all job categories using staff input.
- Develop and implements department specific orientation / education / competency programs.
- Communicate clear, concise expectations and demonstrates accountability for employee performance by coaching, mentoring, and initiating disciplinary action when appropriate.
- Promote and role model teamwork and positive working relationships.
- Establish and maintain current policies and procedures for the department.
- Foster a collaborative and positive working relationship with the interdisciplinary team members delivering patient care in the Emergency Department and Urgent Care.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or demonstrates willingness to pursue degree within two (2) years
- Graduate from a professional school of nursing
- 3 years critical care nursing experience, at least 2 of which is in a formal or informal leadership role
- MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications or demonstrates willingness to achieve within 180 Days
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) within 180 Days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association) within 180 Days
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (American Heart Association) within 180 Days
- TNCC certification within 180 Days
- Certification in Nursing Specialty
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing
- 3 years direct patient care experience in emergency nursing
- 3 years formal management/leadership experience
- Certification in Nursing Specialty.
