Join our family-owned and operated business where employees matter! We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Part-Time Shop Hand to join our growing team.
This is a hands-on, go-to position that helps keep our shop, warehouse, and daily operations running smoothly. The Shop Hand will assist with a variety of tasks, from moving and organizing appliances and equipment to keeping work areas clean and helping our team wherever needed.
We're looking for someone who is willing to pitch in, learn new tasks, work hard, and take pride in getting the job done right.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and organizing appliances, equipment, parts, and materials.
- Help prepare appliances and equipment for delivery or service.
- Assist delivery and service technicians with various tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop, warehouse, and work areas.
- Receive, organize, and put away inventory and supplies.
- Assist with general building and grounds maintenance.
- Dispose of trash, cardboard, packaging, and other materials.
- Help with basic cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of company vehicles and equipment.
- Use hand tools and basic equipment as needed.
- Assist with deliveries, pickups, and other errands when needed.
- Perform a variety of general labor and "odds and ends" tasks to support the team.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
- Take direction well and complete assigned tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work.
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, and pull throughout the workday.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed.
- Ability to work well with others as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, shop, delivery, construction, maintenance, moving, or general labor experience.
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
- Primarily shop, warehouse, and delivery environments.
- May occasionally work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, and standing.
- Must be comfortable working around appliances, equipment, tools, and other materials.
- Part-time schedule with hours based on business needs.
- Occasional additional hours may be available during busy periods.
- Weekend or extended hours may be required during sales events, holidays, or busy seasons.
