Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain major household appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, ranges, ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and microwaves.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure appliances operate safely and efficiently.
- Identify electrical and mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer specifications.
- Install replacement parts and complete repairs according to manufacturer standards.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and service bulletins.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding appliance issues, repair recommendations, and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory.
- Respond to emergency or priority service calls as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade school preferred).
- 3 – 5 years appliance repair experience required.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic principles.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing a daily service schedule.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift appliances and parts, move equipment safely, and work in tight spaces or various positions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Factory or manufacturer appliance service certifications.
- EPA Section 608 Certification (preferred for sealed system refrigeration repairs).
- Experience servicing multiple major appliance brands.
- Strong refrigeration diagnostic and sealed system experience is a plus.
Work Environment
- Primarily residential homes with occasional commercial appliance service.
- Daily local travel between customer locations using a company-provided service vehicle.
- Work may involve lifting heavy appliances, kneeling, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- On-call or weekend work may be required.
