Job Summary
The Technical Product Specialist serves as the key link between product development, sales, and customers within the agriculture sector. This role is responsible for providing deep technical expertise on agricultural products, supporting field trials and performance, and helping drive adoption through education, training, and data-backed insights. The ideal candidate combines agronomic knowledge with strong communication skills and a commercial mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert on company products, including crop inputs, equipment, or ag technology solutions
- Provide technical support to sales teams, growers, distributors, and key accounts
- Conduct field trials, demonstrations, and performance evaluations across various crops and regions
- Translate technical product features into practical, value-driven solutions for customers
- Assist in product launches by developing training materials, technical guides, and positioning strategies
- Collaborate with R&D and product management to relay customer feedback and improve product offerings
- Analyze field data and market trends to support product recommendations and strategy
- Deliver presentations, workshops, and training sessions to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of product performance issues in the field
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 3–7 years of experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or technical product support
- Strong understanding of crop production systems (e.g., citrus, grapes, row crops, tree fruit, etc.)
- Experience with field trials, data analysis, and agronomic recommendations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and technical teams
- Willingness to travel frequently (30–60%)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with precision agriculture, ag-tech platforms, or digital farming tools
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in agriculture
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret field and market data
- CRM and data management experience
- Working proficiency in both English and Spanish preferred
- Possession of a personal vehicle for business travel preferred.
