Responsibilities
The expected base salary range for this position is between
$141,100.00 - $211,700.00
The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)

Responsibilities
- Lead the process development and technology transfer for battery cell formation
- Initiate root cause analysis when an excursion or new failure mode is discovered
- Give direction to cross-functional team members to solve root cause and implement resolution
- Scrape data from database systems to collect and report out on data
- Own and maintain standard operating procedures for formation processes
- Train technicians and junior staff on formation operation
- Develop project plans and effectively communicate status and findings at various levels of management
- Bachelor degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Materials engineering
- Minimum of 7 years experience in engineering involving electrical or electrochemical systems
- Minimum of 3 years in cell manufacturing environment
- Able to converse confidently on all aspects of cell manufacturing from electrode through formation for at least one Lithium-based material system
- Proficient in SQL
- Proficiency in Python a plus
- Past experience operating and troubleshooting battery formation / testing equipment & software (e.g. MACCOR, Arbin, NEWARE, Digatron, etc.)
- Six Sigma Black Belt a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment standing up to 8 hours each day
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, lab coats, safety glasses, safety goggles, and respirators as required
