This position reports to the production support manager. The Yard Truck Operator is to be responsible for all communications of available inventory and trailers in the yard. They are to manage the movement of all trailers and trucks owned by Lyons as well as the cargo inside. This person is to keep a clean and safe work environment for not only himself but for others they may come into contact with. They will be expected to be on call during the week with the possibility of coming in during non-scheduled hours to move trailers to assist the keeping operations going.
Hours: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm
Schedule: Monday - Friday
(Weekend OT as needed)
Location: Walton, KY
Core Responsibilities:
- Checking for equipment failures and safety issues with equipment.
- Making sure trailers are moved into and out of dock doors to allow operations and warehousing to continue running.
- Confirm all loads or trailers have been moved or staged prior to leaving for the day.
- Making sure equipment is fueled and operational.
- Keeping equipment clean inside and out.
- Other duties at the discretion of management.
- Compliance with all GMP and Safe Food Handling Policies.
- Reporting any safety or maintenance issues to your immediate supervisor or by filling out work order request.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Active participation in the LME safety program.
- Abides by all internal policies. This includes GMP, attendance, productivity etc.
- Completes any job related training in the timeframe allotted.
- Maintains a high level of productivity in complying with the position requirements.
- Safe Operation of the Material Handling Equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Flexible work schedule and the ability to work Wednesday thru Sunday with overtime.
- Dependable
- Must be able to safely operate material handling equipment, i.e. Fork Lifts, Pallet Jacks, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Very good mathematical skills.
- Experience with working in Excel and understanding of tables.
