We are seeking a highly skilled, analytical, and solution-driven Senior Accounting Specialist to join our growing team. As a senior member of the Accounting team, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and delivering executive-level financial insights that support strategic business decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight & Compliance
- Manage line of credit balances and monitor banking covenants on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct audits of accounting data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective measures.
- Lead year-end processes in coordination with external CPA firms, including reviewed financial statements and tax returns.
- Accounting Operations Management
- Oversee general ledger management, journal entries, and reconciliations for cash, credit, and loan accounts.
- Supervise and review departmental work, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, cash receipts, refunds, collections, client statements, bank reconciliations, W-2s, and 1099s.
- Ensure billing and collections are timely and accurate, while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Budgeting & Strategic Planning
- Develop, implement, and monitor annual budget plans and processes, including revenue projections, profit margin goals, and variance analysis.
- Provide executive-level financial reports with actionable insights and key performance metrics to guide leadership decisions.
- Prepare and present consolidated financial statements.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Oversee AR team compliance with SOPs and performance expectations.
- Conduct semi-annual performance evaluations and provide mentorship to accounting staff.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with other departments to ensure cohesive financial support across the business.
- Banking & Vendor Relations
- Serve as the primary liaison with banks, auditors, and external vendors.
- Manage vendor payments through ACH, checks, and credit cards.
- Review vendor statements and prepare reconciliation reports.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and manage day-to-day banking activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required).
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated expertise in financial operations and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in SAP and Paycom preferred.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and evaluate accounting staff.
- Highly analytical with exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to senior leadership.
