Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Production & Quality Manager to lead our day to day interface between our Project Management team and structural steel fabrication shop. This is a hands on leadership position for someone who understands structural steel fabrication and can work effectively with both experienced tradespeople and developing welders and fabricators
Responsibilities
Review Shop drawings and project information before work reaches the floor, identifying missing information, conflicts or details that could cause fabrication problems.
Work closely with project managers and detailers to make sure projects are ready for production.
Lead LWT's QA/QC program and ensure fabrication meets drawings, specifications, AWS, AISC and customer requirements
Perform and coordinate inspections, resolve quality issues and reduce re-work
Help establish production bottlenecks and help solve problems before they affect project schedules.
Assist Project Management with technical questions, RFI's , changes, scheduling and other project needs.
Jump in and help with fabrication or project management work when circumstances require it.
Experience
- Proven experience in structural steel fabrication and welding.
- Ability to read and understand structural steel shop drawings
- Good understanding of structural welding practices and AWS-D1.1
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Organized, practical and comfortable making decisions
- Willingness to spend significant time on the shop floor not just behind a desk
AWS-CWI certification is a plus but not required. Experience working in an AISC certified fabrication shop is highly desireable.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
