I'm partnering with a global, privately backed data centre platform that is expanding aggressively across North America. They are an ownerâoperator, not a consultancy or contractor, with multiple large campuses under active development and a long-term pipeline already secured.
This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for construction delivery across active markets - ideal for someone who wants real control, scale, and influence over multiâbillionâdollar infrastructure.
As Vice President, Construction, you will own and lead all construction activity across multiple hyperscale campuses, from preâconstruction through commissioning and closeout. You'll manage regional construction leadership, control CAPEX at campus level, and act as a strategic partner to development, finance, operations, and commercial teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Executive oversight of construction delivery across all active U.S. markets
- Leadership of Construction Directors responsible for individual campuses
- Ownership of multiâcampus CAPEX budgets, cost controls, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Driving execution across preâconstruction, procurement, GC selection, construction, commissioning, and handover
- Acting as a thought leader, aligning stakeholders across development, operations, finance, and sales
- Ensuring client requirements tied to leases are fully met through delivery
- Partnering with finance and cost teams on proformas, RFP reviews, MSAs, and contractor authorisations
- Oversight of vendor strategy, GC partnerships, and major trade relationships
- Embedding lessons learned and continuous improvement across regions
- Supporting executive-level reporting, forecasting, and decision-making
- Direct involvement in cost estimating, optimisation strategies, and site-specific risk analysis
- 15 years in construction leadership, with senior management experience at Director / VP level
- Proven delivery of large-scale data centre projects (critical requirement)
- Deep expertise across CSA and MEP on missionâcritical builds
- Track record managing complex, multi-site construction programmes
- Strong commercial acumen: CAPEX control, forecasting, estimating, and cost optimisation
- Confident leading large, geographically dispersed teams
- Comfortable operating in an ownerâoperator environment with full accountability
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to ~90%)
