Overview
My client is seeking a Senior Healthcare Architect to join their growing Healthcare team. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in leading the technical development and delivery of medium to large-scale healthcare projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio that may also include projects in higher education, research & development, civic, and municipal sectors.
Note: Experience with healthcare facility design including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and medical office buildings is highly preferred. Familiarity with FGI Guidelines, ADA requirements, and healthcare specific codes and regulations is strongly desired.
- Assist Project Managers in developing and maintaining project work plans, schedules, and deliverables
- Collaborate closely with the design team during programming and conceptual design phases
- Lead the technical development of healthcare projects, including preparation of design development and construction documents
- Coordinate efforts with internal engineering teams and external consultants
- Develop and maintain architectural technical specifications with emphasis on healthcare systems, materials, and infection control standards
- Lead construction administration activities, including site observations, RFI responses, and submittal reviews
- Serve as Project Manager on small to mid-sized projects, as needed
- Support department initiatives such as updating technical standards, best practices, and documentation
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior architectural staff
- 10-15 years of architectural experience, with a focus on healthcare projects preferred
- Professional licensure (RA) strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading complex healthcare facility projects
- Proficiency in Revit required
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and BSD SpecLink is a plus
- Experience coordinating with specialized healthcare consultants such as:
- Medical equipment planners
- Infection control specialists
- Strong understanding of healthcare planning, codes, and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Highly detail-oriented with strong technical rigor
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines
- Capable of working under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards
