An engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design, modernization, and technical services for hydroelectric power facilities. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to balance in-office collaboration with remote work.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- EIT or PE certification required
- Minimum 5 years of professional engineering experience
- Authorization to work permanently in the United States
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
- Technically knowledgeable:
- Experience in hydroelectric system design
- Preferred exposure to:
- Multi-plant SCADA systems
- Condition monitoring technologies
- Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) design
As part of the electrical engineering team, you will support clients through all stages of hydropower facility upgrades and project execution, including:
- Designing modernization solutions for hydropower plants, generator step-up (GSU) substations, and fish passage automation.
- Preparing procurement specifications and conducting engineering design reviews.
- Providing onsite construction and commissioning support.
- Performing power system analyses, such as:
- Short-circuit calculations
- Power flow modeling
- Device coordination studies
- Arc flash incident energy evaluations
