A nationally recognized design firm is seeking an experienced Healthcare Studio Principal to lead and grow its Healthcare Studio in the Newport Beach office. This senior leadership role combines client leadership, business development, and studio management, with a focus on expanding a portfolio ranging from outpatient clinics to acute care facilities.
The Healthcare Studio Principal serves as an active project leader, trusted client advisor, and mentor, while advancing the studio's strategic growth and regional presence. Candidates must be a licensed Architect.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of healthcare projects from concept through construction.
- Serve as a primary client contact, developing and strengthening long‑term healthcare client relationships.
- Drive business development, including identifying and winning new healthcare work across hospital systems and providers.
- Develop and implement a long‑term strategy to grow the Healthcare Studio and expand its regional footprint.
- Manage studio operations, including financial performance and resource planning.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of architects and designers specializing in healthcare projects.
- Collaborate closely with office leadership and firmwide healthcare practice leaders.
- Promote innovation, collaboration, and high‑performance healthcare environments that improve patient, provider, and community outcomes.
Requirements
- Licensed/Registered Architect (required).
- 10 years of professional experience in healthcare architecture and design.
- Deep expertise in healthcare planning, design, and regulatory environments; Southern California experience strongly preferred.
- Proven success in healthcare client leadership and business development.
- Experience managing project financials, accounts, and studio or team operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and strategic leadership skills.
