This role is ideal for an Environmental Engineer who enjoys working across disciplines - from fieldwork and inspections to data analysis and client interaction. You'll support land use and regulatory compliance projects for rural communities in Northern California and Southern Oregon.
You'll be responsible for managing and executing environmental projects that include site assessments, stormwater inspections, permit implementation, and technical reporting. The position also involves mentoring junior staff, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and contributing to business development.
- Lead or support environmental projects from planning through execution
- Develop work plans, proposals, and specifications for compliance and corrective action projects
- Conduct site inspections and environmental investigations
- Analyze data and prepare technical reports with actionable recommendations
- Coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies to ensure project and permit compliance
- Attend field and office meetings, collect project data, and maintain organized documentation
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development
- Support marketing and client outreach within your area of expertise
- B.S. in Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 4 years of experience in environmental compliance
- EIT certification
- Intention to sit for the California PE exam within one year of hire
- Valid U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Familiarity with environmental conditions in Northern California and Southern Oregon
- California PE license
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field
- Certifications such as QSD, TOR, or REA
- 40-hour OSHA HAZMAT certification
- Experience with Phase I/II ESAs and stormwater programs
