Our client is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join their team and take a lead role in designing, programming, and developing engineered control drawings for advanced Building Automation Systems (BAS). This position requires strong technical expertise and a commitment to delivering quality, efficiency, and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Design and develop BAS control sequences, engineered drawings, and schematics for new installations.
- Interpret project plans and specifications, creating operational sequences, wiring details, BOM, and submittals.
- Generate control-engineered drawings and wiring schematics using AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio.
- Build and manage BAS databases, including supervisor devices and field-level controllers.
- Develop and test field-level programs, supporting technicians during implementation and commissioning.
- Maintain standardized programming templates and stay updated on BAS software tools.
- Collaborate with project managers and estimating teams to ensure accurate material selection and project scope alignment.
- BS degree in engineering or engineering technology OR a two-year community college diploma with 10 years of BAS controls engineering and design experience.
- Educational background in electronics, computer programming, or mechanical technology.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment and system operations.
- AutoCAD 2D proficiency.
- Tridium AX and N4 design knowledge for product selection and layout.
- Distech Controls certification.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills with co-workers, engineers, and general contractors.
