My client is seeking an experienced Chief Inspector to oversee transportation construction projects across Connecticut. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local design standards while maintaining quality and safety throughout project execution. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, field crews, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead inspector on transportation construction projects, ensuring adherence to approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor construction activities for compliance with federal, state, and local design standards.
- Conduct site inspections, document findings, and provide detailed reports on progress, quality, and safety.
- Collaborate with contractors, field crews, and project managers to resolve issues and maintain project timelines.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Ensure proper implementation of quality control and safety procedures on-site.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Connecticut preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation construction inspection or related field.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local design standards for transportation infrastructure.
- Ability to travel regularly to construction sites across Connecticut.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in construction documentation and inspection software is a plus.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
