My client is seeking an experienced Associate Principal Engineer to provide expert design and engineering guidance across a range of projects. This leadership role involves overseeing conceptual design, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, and mentoring a small team of engineers. You'll be the go-to technical expert in project meetings and play a key role in driving project success.
- Lead conceptual design and prepare complex preliminary layouts for estimating.
- Perform advanced calculations (e.g., heating/cooling loads, equipment sizing) across disciplines such as HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design documents and resolve issues during construction.
- Represent engineering expertise in project team meetings.
- Manage a small team of engineers, including staffing, training, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Stay current with industry trends and ensure engineering standards are upheld across projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Expert knowledge in systems design (HVAC, plumbing, etc.)
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Proficiency in CADD and Microsoft Office Suite
