Air Permitting Engineer

Air Quality Technical Specialist:

Overview:

This role supports a range of air permitting and compliance work. The ideal candidate is an experienced Air Quality professional who can step in with minimal ramp-up and confidently manage permitting efforts from straightforward applications through more complex Title V work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit air permit applications, including construction and Title V permits
• Perform emissions calculations, applicability analyses, and permitting exemption determinations
• Prepare routine compliance reports such as annual emissions statements and monitoring reports
• Execute air permitting work independently from start to finish
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, subcontractors, and internal team members
• Manage multiple projects while adhering to schedules, budgets, and quality standards

Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related scientific discipline
• 5-10 years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on air permitting
• Demonstrated hands-on experience preparing air permit applications, including Title V (not just supporting or reviewing work)
• Experience with construction permitting and air compliance programs
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a "plug-and-play" capacity
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain client relationships
