Your role
As a Machine Builder, you are responsible for the complete assembly, installation, and testing of advanced metal fabricating machines and systems. You work with a high level of precision and technical expertise to ensure that all machines meet strict quality, alignment, and performance standards.
Based on technical drawings, schematics, and specifications, you independently plan and execute complex assembly sequences. You build machines and sub-assemblies from the ground up, ensuring accurate fitting, alignment, and adjustment of all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
You play a key role in ensuring the final quality and functionality of each machine by performing detailed testing, diagnosing issues, and making necessary adjustments. In addition, you support and guide less experienced assemblers in complex tasks, contributing to overall team performance and knowledge sharing.
You also maintain a clean and organized workspace, follow safety and quality procedures, and may occasionally travel to customer sites to assist with installation, maintenance, or repairs.
Your responsibilities
Assemble, install, and test metal fabricating machines and related systems.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, process sheets, and specifications.
Plan and execute complex assembly sequences with high precision.
Build machines and sub-assemblies on the shop floor, benches, or fixtures.
Assemble and align mechanical components such as drive units, shafts, flywheels, and worktables.
Fit and install bearings, bushings, sleeves, keys, and other precision parts.
Ensure tight tolerances in alignment, clearance, concentricity, and parallelism.
Install electrical components, wiring, and control systems.
Assemble and test hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling systems.
Form, bend, and install tubing and piping systems.
Perform layout, drilling, and pinning for permanent assembly positioning.
Test and operate completed machines, diagnose issues, and perform adjustments.
Follow procedures for testing electrical circuits and control mechanisms.
Perform finishing tasks, including touch-ups and assembly of sheet metal parts.
Detect and report defective parts or malfunctions to the supervisor.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Keep work area and equipment clean and organized.
Support and guide junior assemblers in complex assembly tasks.
Occasionally travel to customer sites for installation, maintenance, or repair work.

Qualifications

Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Experience with precision tools and measuring instruments
Strong understanding of tolerances and alignment requirements
Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site work
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
