Associate Attorney

Minimum Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school recognized by the American Bar Association
• Active membership with a state bar, or the ability to obtain admission to the Washington State Bar within six (6) months of hire
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience handling transactional legal matters, with exposure to areas such as corporate law, finance, intellectual property, or similar disciplines
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently across all organizational levels and with external legal partners
• Highly self-directed with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
• Capable of providing legal support across a broad range of business and operational matters
• Practical experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, along with familiarity in compliance and employment-related legal issues
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Willingness to travel as needed
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to work at a computer for extended durations
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings or weekends as needed
• Comfort working in environments where smoking is permitted
• Commitment to following all organizational safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• Admission to the Washington State Bar and in good standing
• Experience supporting or working with tribal entities, or background in firms or programs focused on tribal or gaming law
• Prior exposure to regulatory compliance, contract management, and oversight within regulated industries, including gaming operations
• Familiarity with federal Indian law, Washington State regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and tribal legal frameworks
