We are seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to serve as the strategic pillar of our Surveying & Mapping operations across Southern California. Core Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Direct the Surveying & Mapping Department in responsible charge, overseeing daily operations and ensuring the highest standards of professional practice.

• Strategic Mentorship: Cultivate the next generation of surveying talent through active development, rigorous QA/QC oversight, and technical guidance.

• Advanced Mapping & Analysis: Architect and review complex surveying deliverables, including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary retracements, and topographic mapping.

• Regulatory Authority: Mastermind the preparation and certification of subdivision maps, records of survey, and legal descriptions in strict accordance with the California Subdivision Map Act.

• Business Development: Act as the face of the firm’s surveying division, nurturing elite client relationships and spearheading proposals for small-site and large-scale developments.

• Technological Integration: Drive the adoption and optimization of modern surveying technologies, including high-precision GPS, total stations, and 3D scanning workflows.

• Project Stewardship: Manage departmental budgets, project scopes, and timelines to ensure the seamless delivery of construction staking and mapping packages.

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Active California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is mandatory.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience: 10 years of land surveying experience (boundary, topographic, and construction) specifically within the Southern California market.

• Leadership: 5 years of experience in a direct supervisory or departmental management role.

• Software Proficiency: Advanced command of AutoCAD Civil 3D and surveying calculation software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Legal Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of the California Subdivision Map Act and local agency requirements.

• Advanced Technology: Proven experience implementing 3D Laser Scanning or UAV/Drone mapping workflows.

• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills for high-stakes client presentations and multidisciplinary coordination.

• Complex Retracement: A specialized track record in resolving complex boundary disputes and historic retracements.
