Job Summary:
As a Luxury Watch Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, repair, and restoration of high-end timepieces from prestigious brands (e.g., Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Omega). You will work with precision tools and adhere to manufacturer standards to ensure optimal performance and preservation of these luxury items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complete servicing of mechanical and quartz luxury watches, including disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, reassembly, timing adjustments, and casing.
- Diagnose issues and execute repairs including battery replacements, water resistance testing, and complex repairs.
- Use precision tools and equipment such as timing machines, pressure testers, ultrasonic cleaners, and microscopes.
- Maintain a clean and organized workbench and ensure all tools are calibrated and in good working condition.
- Adhere strictly to brand specifications and quality control standards.
- Prepare service reports and maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors or customers regarding repair status, required parts, and timelines.
- Stay up to date with technical training, certifications, and emerging technologies in horology.
Requirements:
- Certification from a recognized watchmaking school (e.g., WOSTEP, AWCI, SAWTA, or equivalent).
- Minimum [X] years of experience in luxury watch repair and servicing.
- Strong knowledge of both mechanical and quartz movements.
- High level of dexterity, precision, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with high-end watch brands and their specific service protocols.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of luxury goods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Brand certifications (e.g., Rolex, Omega, Cartier, etc.).
- Experience working in an authorized service center or with a luxury watch retailer.
- Experience with polishing and case refinishing.
Working Conditions:
- Workshop environment with seated benchwork.
- Use of magnification and fine motor tools daily.
- May require occasional travel for training or certification.
