Responsibilities of the Wound Care Nurse / RN or LPN (WCC, WOCN):
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization and the state of Missouri
- Complete wound treatments for residents in a skilled nursing facility
- Implement and monitor patient care plans
- Monitor, record, and communicate resident condition
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
- Coordinate with wound care providers and oversee nursing staff wound treatments
- Provide resident-specific education to CNAs and nurses for wound care and prevention
- Duties include medication administration, documentation, overseeing residents’ care, and implementation of schedules for residents
- Current RN or LPN license required
- Some wound care experience
- Certification preferred but not required
- Minimum Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
