Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage waitlists, and seat guests efficiently to optimize table turnover.
- Take reservations using OpenTable or similar reservation management systems, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Assist servers with food handling, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to uphold sanitation standards.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations to upsell menu items and enhance guest dining experiences through effective sales techniques.
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order entry, payment processing, and cash handling with precision.
- Maintain excellent guest relations by addressing inquiries promptly and resolving any concerns professionally.
- Support food safety protocols and sanitation practices in accordance with health regulations to ensure a safe environment for all.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or server in a fine dining or food service setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables and reservations efficiently during busy hours.
- Proven ability in upselling menu items to increase sales while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Experience working in a restaurant environment with a focus on guest services and hospitality.
