What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator position at LUX dynamics?

We are looking for a detail-oriented and hard-working Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate can function in a fast-paced environment and will take the initiative to increase our production efficiency while reducing our total cost outlay.
Summary of major responsibilities:
- Review customer POs to ensure all pertinent shipping information is followed
- Recruit and coordinate logistics staff (e.g., freight brokers and freight companies) according to availabilities and requirements
- Inspect finished crates to ensure the safety of fixtures during transport and to confirm the correct product is being shipped
- Confirm weights and dimensions of shipment are correct prior to requesting a quote.
- Book shipments quickly and efficiently through our brokers via email or online FedEx/ UPS portal
- Properly label crates and packages with packing slips, marks, and BOLs
- Work with production and customer service departments to ensure customer orders ship in a timely manner and as requested
- Receive material when requested
- Assist production when requested
Education, skills, qualifications, and experience needed to perform the responsibilities of the position
- A minimum of 3 weeks of training on the production floor, in order to gain needed product knowledge
- High School Diploma
- Friendly, service-oriented attitude
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and desire to be part of a busy workspace
- Proficient in Word, Windows, Outlook, etc.
- Must be comfortable in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment
- Forklift trained (Preferred)
