This flexible, as‑needed role offers a variety of shifts, including 3:00pm–8:00pm on select days and Sundays from 10:00am–4:00pm, with opportunities to pick up additional coverage as needed.

What You’ll Do As An LVMG Bartender
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring proper garnishes and presentation.
- Arrange bar or cart supplies and glassware to create visually appealing displays.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar/cart area at all times.
- Accurately record all sales, collect payments, and operate the cash register in accordance with facility cash handling procedures.
- Prepare and/or sell food items as needed.
- Conduct inventory checks, assess stock levels, and submit orders or requisitions in a timely manner to ensure sufficient supply of all necessary items.
- Adhere to all departmental procedures and facility policies.
- Foster and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other departments to support seamless service.
- Promote a welcoming, positive, and calm atmosphere throughout the department.
- Attend and actively participate in workshops, seminars, and in-service training programs.
- Complete TAM (Techniques of Alcohol Management) training and successfully pass the competency test, as required by the Howard County Board of License Commissioners.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
What You’ll Need as a Bartender:
Education | Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years bartending experience or formal training is preferred and should be verifiable.
- Must comply with all state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages, as required by the State of Maryland.
- Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels, including residents, staff, families, external vendors/authorities, and the public.
- Strong attention to detail in writing, proofreading, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating a cooperative, respectful, and compassionate approach to colleagues and resident care.
- Skilled in the use of standard office equipment and technology.
- Maintains professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude when managing challenging situations.
- Physically able to move throughout the workday and lift items up to 25 pounds using safe handling practices.
- May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.
- Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.
