General Responsibilities
Entering and reviewing accounting transactions in order to prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Obtain management information and research business transactions as necessary to ensure accurate and timely accounting of transactions Prepare and report monthly financial statements.
Education/Training/Certifications
Basic Qualifications
College degree in Accounting or Finance required. Advanced college degree, public accounting experience, and/or equivalent work or academic experience required. CPA preferred.
Skill(s): Technically proficient. Confidential. Familiar with managing general ledger accounts, able to close general ledger, and prepare financial statements. Able to analyze and articulate relevant business issues and relate them to the financial statements.
Effective use of complex, automated, integrated accounting and administrative software. Excellent Excel skills. Effective use of the Internet.
Excellent oral and verbal communication. Able to convene and lead meetings among colleagues on a variety of topics.
Able to perform independent research of accounting transactions.
Pleasant, team-spirited telephone and interpersonal relations.
Experience: Three to six years of experience in all aspects of general accounting in a medium or large-sized organization or equivalent work experience. Some experience in public accounting and/or Healthcare preferred. Experience in preparation of general ledger journal entries and general ledger account analyses; closing the general ledger and preparing financial statements.
