Position Summary

The Kitchen/Food Truck Staff Partner will work in various areas of the kitchen and on the Food Truck. Prepping food, cleaning, inventory of goods, trash removal, order pick up from the food bank and loading and unloading of delivery trucks. This role requires a blend of organizational skills, a passion for the food industry, and a knack for problem solving.

Some of the duties include:

• Interaction in a positive manner with staff, students, customers and other community members
• May assist Steward with inventory of dry goods in back area and Main offsite freezer
• Will prep assigned foods from Kitchen/Cafe Supervisor in timely and proper fashion
• Uphold compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
• Assists to ensure stock and product is labeled, organized and dated, utilizing FIFO method
• May assist with receiving and rotating stock, loading and unloading of trucks utilizing a pallet jack and proper storage of items with Steward
• May assist with rotation of stock throughout production, ensure appropriate storage, alert chef to low levels or food nearing end of life with Kitchen Supervisor
• Will assist with Kitchen Supervisor and Steward for cleanliness of the kitchen area, equipment, and back areas of storage, during and at the end of your shift including all trash from kitchen. Includes sweeping, mopping and sanitizing of areas
• Maintain food trucks to company standards by ensuring they are properly stocked, equipped, and operational
• Engage with customers to create a positive and welcoming dining experience
• Keep the food truck clean and well-maintained, including all equipment, vehicles, and storage areas

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent; culinary or hospitality industry training/experience, preferred.  Previous experience working in a food truck environment is a plus. Familiarity with commercial kitchen operation and equipment, thorough knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds.  A valid Ohio Driver’s license and proof of insurance is required.
